Requirements:
- stock clock-spring
- wheel hub allowing to pass wires, for instance Works Bell 912
- possible installation with quick-release system using short hub for instance Works Bell 912s + QR like Works Bell RAPFIX or D1Spec Ball-lock System steering wheel quick-release ( D1S-002 )
- car equipped with cruise harness (some early NC1 except US often do not have, offering retrofit sets)
- CC-enabled ECU (L831x for early 1.8 engines do NOT have CC, I am able to modify them)

I ordered the 8-button aftermarket switch gear from AlexEngineering primarily because it’s far safer to change music tracks and adjust the volume from the steering wheel rather than using the stereo touchscreen while driving. The fact that it also includes cruise control was an added bonus.
The installation instructions are extremely detailed, and Alex is always quick to respond to WhatsApp messages, which is very reassuring if you need clarification. The installation itself is relatively straightforward, but I would strongly recommend studying the instructions thoroughly and watching a few YouTube installation videos beforehand.
Alex has made the wiring process as simple as possible by using coloured rings on the individual wires, which makes following the instructions much clearer and reduces the chance of mistakes.
The switch gear itself is very well made, fits perfectly, and functions exactly as it should. When the vehicle lights are switched on, the buttons illuminate, making them easy to see at night. The buttons have a solid, quality feel, and engaging or disengaging the cruise control works seamlessly with the car’s existing controls.
Overall, I thoroughly recommend this product for both build quality and functionality. Just be aware that if you’re ordering from outside Poland, you’ll need to factor in import charges.
